2014 is here! Join us February 14-15 for our annual festival. Friday, February 14th we will kick-off the weekend with dining specials and entertainment.
Gerrish Township Community Park Marina will have ice skating all weekend. The rink is inside and out of the wind.
Saturday, start your day off with a great pancake breakfast, from there head to Pioneer Hill for the Crazy Cardboard Classic Downhill Run. Join the fun and bring your own sled made from cardboard, tape and glue (no wood, metal, staples…) or watch. We have children’s and business class. We have some very creative sled builders here! The Fishing Derby is at North Higgins Lake State Park, we will be giving prizes out in 7 categories. The Snowmobile Radar Run is on the ice in front at the park too. There is a $10 registration fee if you would like to try for a trophy! The Chili Cook-off will be at the MacMullan Center. Come by, try them all and vote for your favorite. Our area restaurants will be vying for the traveling trophy. The Silver Dollar Bar is hoping to keep it this year again.
The Kid’s Karnival includes games, hot dog lunch, horse drawn wagon rides, snowman building contest, box hockey, ice slide, prizes and more. All of the children have a great time!
And if that isn’t enough watch the Broomball Competition on the ice. Never a dull moment out there. If you would like to put together a team….let us know.
We end the day at the Silver Dollar Bar for the AfterGlow Awards Celebration. We will be drawing for the $1,000 grand prize raffle. Don’t worry, if you don’t get your ticket beforehand we will have some there for you. They are $10 each, 2nd prize is $500 and 3rd prize is $250. We will have some fun things that we will be raffling off too. We have added a silent auction and have a great selection for you to bid on. Trophies will be awarded and we have a couple of ‘fun’ activities planned.
ALL YOU NEED TO PARTICIPATE IS A WINTERFEST BADGE. The cost of the badge is $5 and allows you to take part in all the events. Need a badge or raffle ticket, stop by the Chamber of Commerce and get yours today!
